Furthermore, the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin has joined forces with Ukrainian and international partners to initiate the founding of an Institute for Advanced Study for Ukraine (UIAS) in Kyiv. In the initial phase, which is taking place under wartime conditions, a virtual structure, the VUIAS, is being set up. The initiative is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation with more than two million euros in two start-up phases until 2029.
