The Ethics of Concept Use: Philosophy, Sociology, and Public Life
October 22–23, 2026
This workshop brings together philosophers and social scientists to reflect on how concepts and categories are generated in society, how they’re used in social life and organizations, and how to critically evaluate them. We’ll reflect, too, on philosophers’ and social scientists’ own conceptual practices—i.e., the use of key words and distinctions within their scholarly fields.
